The Work Our Crew Takes On
Most of the houses we walk into around here are heated by an oil burner that has seen better decades, a gas boiler working overtime or electric baseboard that makes the monthly bill sting, and every one of them calls for a slightly different plan. Between them, the five jobs below handle pretty much any of those houses, and a typical project leans on a couple at once.
Heat Pump Installation
Whole-home and room-level heat pumps, ducted where the ducts are worth using and ductless where they are not, laid out from a heat-loss survey and started up with you watching.
Mass Save Rebate Help
Working toward the Mass Save whole-home rebate, which reaches up to $8,500 for qualifying 2026 projects, with the assessment, the equipment list and the forms all kept in step.
0% HEAT Loan Financing
Lining up the 0% HEAT Loan, worth up to $25,000 from lenders signed on to the program, by handing you a proposal and authorization form that are complete the first time.
Ductless Mini-Splits
Indoor heads for homes that never had ducts, top-floor apartments, sunrooms, dormers and bedrooms that run cold no matter how high the boiler is set.
Oil & Gas Heating Replacement
Taking out a tired oil, propane or gas system and putting heat pumps in its place, with the old equipment either gone for good or kept on a short leash by smart controls.
How a Job Runs When Our Crew Has It
We get the lay of the land by phone
You tell us what is heating the house right now, who sends the electric bill, how many floors and units there are, and which rooms you would rather not sit in come February, and from that we can usually tell you which programs are worth a closer look.
Eligibility gets sorted early
We line your situation up against the rebate and HEAT Loan conditions, and if the house has not had its no-cost Mass Save Home Energy Assessment yet, we explain how to get that booked first, since the whole-home incentive depends on it.
The crew measures the house
On the visit we go room to room with a tape, check the attic and the walls we can see into, look over the boiler or furnace, and work out the heat each space loses on a design-cold night so the equipment matches the building.
Proposal, then the install
You get one written proposal with the equipment, price, rebate estimate and loan figure, and once the paperwork is squared away, we set outdoor units, run line sets, hang indoor heads or air handlers and deal with the old system as planned.
Startup and the final paperwork
We fire up each zone, check temperatures and airflow, show the whole household how the controls work, and finish the rebate and loan documents, including the inspection the HEAT Loan requires after the work.
What You Get When Our Crew Shows Up
A heat pump earns its keep on the coldest nights of the year, and whether it does that depends far more on how the job is planned and set up than on the name on the box. Here is what we bring to every house.
We pick up seven days a week
Afternoon and evening hours every single day, so you can talk through the house after work on a weeknight or on a quiet weekend afternoon, without trading off a shift to do it.
Each room gets its own number
Our crew works out each room's heat loss with a tape and a calculator instead of copying whatever the old boiler was rated at, which is how you end up with a system that runs long, steady and quiet instead of short-cycling or falling behind.
The paperwork comes off your plate
Mass Save forms, the HEAT Loan proposal, the authorization form and the documents a lender tends to ask about are prepared or explained by us, so nothing sits half-finished on the counter for weeks.
Winthrop, East Boston and the Harbor Neighborhoods
Winthrop sits out on its own peninsula with water on most sides, and the houses here, from shingled two-families near the beach to colonials up on the hill, feel every gust that blows in past Deer Island. We work the whole stretch from Winthrop through East Boston, Revere and Chelsea and on up toward Saugus and Lynn.
Wind is part of the math
A house that takes the full brunt of the harbor breeze loses heat faster than one tucked behind its neighbors, so exposure goes straight into our sizing numbers.
Two-families and triple-deckers
Multi-unit homes get planned floor by floor, with separate outdoor and indoor equipment so each household runs its own heat.
Older bones, honest assessments
Balloon framing, plaster and uninsulated attics are common in these neighborhoods, and the energy assessment usually tells us where the first dollars should go.

That comes down to two things: equipment built for deep cold, and a system sized to how much heat your rooms actually lose. We handle both, and we line up the rebate and the 0% loan so the up-front cost does not stop you.

What Winthrop Homeowners Ask the Crew
Here is the short version of what we hear most, with the straight answer up front and the reasoning behind it.
Will a heat pump honestly keep us warm through a Massachusetts winter?
It will, provided the crew picks cold-climate gear and sizes it properly. Cold-climate heat pumps are listed to keep delivering heat far below freezing, and sized from the house's real heat loss they carry it through the worst of January. If you choose to keep the old boiler as a fallback, integrated controls bring it on only when it gets truly frigid.
Our place is nearly a hundred years old. How do you size for that?
We measure it. Room by room we account for floor area, windows, insulation and air leakage, then calculate how much heat each space loses on a design-cold night. The old boiler's rating plays no part, because most were oversized to begin with.
How long will the installation take?
That answer lives in your written proposal, because a pair of ductless heads and a whole-house changeover with a boiler coming out are very different jobs. Once the crew has measured, we can lay out the schedule, and the rebate and loan paperwork adds its own stretch of calendar on either side of the work.
Can our house get the whole-home heat pump rebate?
Quite possibly, once four boxes are ticked. Insulation and air sealing get brought up to whatever the Mass Save energy specialist called for, the outdoor and indoor units come off the cold-climate qualifying list, the house is lived in all winter long, and the heat pumps carry the load while the old burner is pulled or relegated to the very coldest days. We run down that checklist together during your first call.
What separates a whole-home install from a partial-home one?
With whole-home, the heat pumps become the main heat for the entire house, which carries the larger rebate of up to $8,500 in 2026 when the conditions are met. Partial-home covers some rooms or a zone, earns a smaller rebate, and the old system for that zone is either taken out, disconnected or tied in through integrated controls.
Do Mass Save rebates apply if a town runs its own light plant?
In those towns the electric-side money usually comes from the light plant's own program instead. Winthrop isn't one of them: electricity here arrives through a Mass Save utility, so Mass Save's rules govern. A few North Shore places like Peabody and Marblehead do buy power from a light plant, and in those spots 0% borrowing through the HEAT Loan remains possible whenever a Mass Save gas company pipes in the gas.
A Crew That Explains Before It Installs
HVAC Financing Winthrop came together around a simple habit: measure the house, explain the numbers, then do the work. Owners in this town deserve to know why the outdoor unit goes where it goes, how the rebate math lands and what happens to the oil tank, before anyone drills a hole.
